Resonate

This weekend I was a part of a college retreat called Resonate. I went with Bethel Worship center expecting God to show up in a mighty way. My new friend Laci Cargile decided to go with me. We got there and the first thing we did was go to dinner, since we got there late. Now, Springfield Conference Center is where we always have camp...and the food has never been this good! After dinner we went to chapel and God without a doubt showed up. Chris Owen from Southeastern University was the speaker for the weekend. He was different from anyone I had ever heard before. The first night he asked us to sit (and we all did, on the floor) and he simply sat on the stage and talked to us about what we want from life and what God has called us to do. The whole weekend he lead up to the Saturday night discussion about Dreams. Are my dreams God dreams? How will I know? At the end of the night Chris opened the floor for people to stand up and say their dreams if they had unlimited funds and no one telling us no! People stood up all over the room saying dreams from helping sex trafficked women to building playground for the 18,000 teens in Wetumpka, Al to come and hear the gospel. We prayed over all of these dreams and as we did God spoke over his children and said "Yes you can!"

One of my favorite things about this weekend was Saturday morning chapel. Pastor Chris read 1 Corinthians 13 over the crowd 4 different times. The first time we would say what word or phrase stood out the most. The second time we expanded on those words or phrases and voiced what we thought God was trying to tell us. The third time we turned those God thoughts into a prayer. People stood up and cried out to God to change the way we love people, to love the unloveable, and to open our eye to the unseen things of this world. Finally after Chris read the passage one last time we sat in silence in the presence of the Almighty

Resonate your word in my heart and mind oh Lord!

Remember

This week has been an interesting week. I have thought a lot about one simple word...REMEMBER. It was brought to my mind while in church Wednesday night before communion. This word stuck with me all night and into the week. God just reminded me to remember my life before salvation, remember what He brought me out of, remember how my heart was filled with joy when Christ set me free. God has simply revealed to me that he just wants us to remember how awesome he is and the things he can do. Again this past Monday night I heard a man talk about History. How can we relate to the History of Christ? We have to learn about the history of our God, because if we don't know what God has done in the past how can we trust him to bring things to pass today? 1 Chronicles 16:12 says: Remember the wonders he has done, his miracles, and the judgements he pronounced. The Lord is the incredible and unfathomable lover of my soul. He wants me to see how much he loves me and how beautiful I am in his eyes. He wants me to stop and thank him for the thins he has brought me out of and the beauty of his awesome world. He wants me to Remember what he has done.
